Sarah was born in Wembley in 1973 and spent her early childhood in South Wales, near the sea. She then returned to live in Middlesex before settling in the Watford area. During these early years, Sarah spent many hours with her Grandparents in Pinner. Her Grandfather was a Photographer, Film Maker and allotment keeper and her Grandmother was a seamstress. These influences fired Sarah’s imagination from an early age.
After completing Art Foundation in Watford, Hertfordshire, Sarah studied at The University of Wolverhampton and was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1996.
Soon after returning from Wolverhampton, she was offered her first solo Exhibition by Watford Area Arts Forum at the nationally known Palace Theatre. It was around this time, she met her partner Andrew Sands.
Many solo and joint Exhibitions followed in venues such as The Purcell School of Music in Bushey, Hertfordshire and Chenies Manor in Buckinghamshire. During this time Sarah worked with an International Art Company who was very supportive of her artistic efforts. Her work has been sold at The Spring Fair, N.E.C, Birmingham, and The Ideal Home Exhibition in London, and more recently at Artshed in Ware, Hertfordshire and The Antiques for Everyone Exhibition in Birmingham.
In 2007, Sarah won the “Peoples Prize” as part of the ‘Kunst in Der Stadt’ in the city of Mainz, Germany. The painting was later auctioned for Charity and was purchased and kept by a Mainz Gallery Owner.
As a lover of nature and the environment, Sarah gathers her inspiration and ideas from many sources. Local walks, bike rides and short trips abroad provide her with a constant source of reference and ideas.
Since buying Chiswick Camera Centre in West London, with her partner in 2005, Sarah has gained a much deeper understanding of Photography, and this has taken her latest work in an exciting new direction.
